The MCU’s Phase Four is nothing like we’ve ever seen before. After completing phase three aka the infinity saga, Marvel Studios looks to set their sights on new beginnings on not only their projects but as well the characters.
With the addition of Disney Plus, the studio will produce double the content they’ve had in 12 years’ time. From movies to now record-breaking shows, phase four is only beginning.
Let’s take you through the entirety of each project, released and on the way.
By now, you probably know all words to “Agatha All Along”. That’s how much a breakout show this was. You take Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, place Wanda and Vision in their own sitcom world, base it off a few comics and watch the chaos unfold. Oh, then you add a bunch of crazy theories to really make the show as fun as it was.
The story takes us on a journey with newlyweds Wanda and Vision enjoying their life in the suburbs. As the decade’s progress, they realize their “perfect” life together isn’t all as it seems.
The series is available now to stream on Disney Plus.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Originally, this was the first series of phase four, and for a good reason. Due to the pandemic delays, Marvel was unable to complete production in time for its 2020 release. However, this series was very much worth waiting as the highly anticipated buddy-cop style show featuring the chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan was one the most important stories in MCU’s Phase Four history.
After the events of “Endgame”, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes reluctantly team up for a fight in an ever so evolving post-blip world. The series tackles many serious topics faced in our universe and is very much worth the watch.
You can catch this duo now streaming on Disney Plus.
The God of mischief returns and finds himself trapped in his own time-warping crime thriller. After escaping with the Tesseract in “Endgame”, Loki’s plan of becoming king of Midgard becomes foiled as he comes face to face with the TVA.
After the first episode was released, it became the biggest premiere in Disney Plus history with 14 million accounts watching. It still holds that record as of this time, and is a great addition to the MCU’s Phase Four.
Come on, what did you expect?Loki
One of the most highly anticipated MCU movies of all time, Black Widow follows Natasha Romanoff on the run after her actions from ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Her old tricks may not work this time however when she learns about a shocking “conspiracy” involving parts of her traumatic past.
The film explores crucial points of not only Natasha’s but many other of women’s trauma from around the world. It features characters from the comics like Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Melina Vostokoff, and Taskmaster. All of which have potentially great futures in the MCU, more on them later.
Black Widow is now available on digital and on Disney Plus (Premier Access).
MCU’s Phase Four Series What If?…
Airing right now, journey into infinite possibilities and ponder the question: what if?.. The series takes us into different universes where one key detail is changed into the stories you’ve already known. What if Peggy took the serum instead of Steve? Narrated by The Watcher, the first Marvel Studios animated series airs episodes every Wednesday on Disney Plus.
A second season is already being planned for the future, with president Kevin Feige confirming they’ll explore phase four stories as well.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
I mentioned this phase of Marvel being about new beginnings and this movie is a perfect example. An entire line of new characters ready to be introduced and fans ready to step into new territory.
Shang-Chi, the master of Kung Fu, will guide audiences into a fresh and action-packed story. Critics are pleased after early screenings and it’s been said the hand-to-hand combat is the best we’ll see since “Winter Soldier”. Kevin Feige describes the most important part of the story between father and son (Wenwu and Shang-Chi).
Tickets are available now.
MCU’s Phase Four Eternals
Before The Avengers, these heroes protected humans from dangerous beings. Now, we will finally get to know them. The story is being held under wraps from the studio however, the movie is described as “one of the best pitches they’ve ever heard” from some of the producers of the film. It looks incredibly different and visually stunning, directed by Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao.
Slated for a current November 5, 2021 release.
Jeremy Renner is back as Clint Barton and he brought a lot of fan-favorite characters from the comics. For starters, Kate Bishop, a younger archer, is set to make her highly anticipated debut as it’s been teased that she will be working closely with Barton for most of the series. Echo will appear in the show but we don’t know to what extent. We do know however that there is a series in the works for that character as well.
The MCU’s Phase Four Familiar Faces?
Black Widow Spoilers: Yelena Belova will also be in the series following the Black Widow after the credit scene, bone to pick with Clint? we’ll see.
Rumor: A little while ago, it was reported that Kingpin aka Wilson Fisk would make a shocking return/introduction to the MCU’s Phase Four with Vincent D’Onofrio reprising his role from the Daredevil show. With the multiverse saga being planned out, does Hawkeye somehow tie into movies like ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’?
The series takes aim on November 24th on Disney Plus.
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Where to begin with this one. After the record-breaking trailer a few days ago, fans finally got a glimpse of what this project has in store. From Doctor Strange, all the way to the potential sinister six, the rumors about the movie are spicing up. Tom Holland suggests we haven’t seen anything yet making more theories about who else from the multiverse we could see.
Here’s a list of rumored/confirmed characters:
- Doctor Octopus
- Green Goblin
- Other Peter Parker’s
The trailer from what we saw features Tom’s Peter scrambling from the aftermath of his identity being revealed after the events of “Far From Home”. Going to Strange for help, Peter may not realize what he signs up for.
