So now that you've found the site, you are still unsure of what BLURGS really are. Allow me to explain:
BLURGS are great stories. Not like Hemingway's absinthe-laced tales or even Chuck Palahniuk's mind-melting fiction, BLURGS are your own great personal true stories that have shaped the character you are today. A blurg can be something that made you laugh so hard that beer shot out of your nose, it could be a wild adventure, or even a traumatic experience that changed your life.
Everyone has at least one great story. Many of us have a lot more. This site, Blurgit.com, is dedicated to the collection of these great-interesting-compelling-kick ass stories and you can blog yours here to share with the world.
If you have to ask, "What constitutes a great story?" Well, my friend, then yours is already sucks.
Just ponder if you have ever:
- had a near death experience?
- took an amazing impromptu road trip?
- been in a natural disaster?
- been in survival mode?
- pulled off a great prank?
- punched a celebrity?
- did something in high school that made you "legendary"?
- fought in the "meat-grinder" battle of Falluja?
- won $10k in Vegas then blew it all in a night?
- almost died from cancer, came back to beat it, then ran a triathlon in the North Pole to prove your toughness only to get attacked by a polar bear?
- started any story with, "HOLY $#@%, You're never going to guess what happened to me..."
You get the idea. I encourage you to use any and all means necessary to tell (and legitimize) your story - that includes pictures, audio, video, music, maps, and anything else you can plug into a blog (check out my FAQs to learn how to do all this).
So the next time you witness a bank robbery, break a world record, outfox an insurgent, get caught in the middle of a European soccer riot, or are apart something interesting in this world that you will never forget, then BLURG IT here.
Of course you can promote yourself, your blog, your Myspace, or anything of the sort that is related.
If your story is interesting, I will keep it on the front page. If it's epic, I may even make it a feature.
