goldfishOne of my goldfish is dying. “Minnow,” the name I affectionately gave the fish 14 years ago when I was a kid, has been lying on the gravel for over a week now and everyday it struggles harder and harder to eat the red and yellow flakes I drop in. The water is clean, I’ve tried the antibiotics, and I’ve even talked to a couple of fish store employees about what I could do for it. It turns out there is not much I can do for this goldfish. And to tell you the truth, it’s making me sick in my heart.

LSD Blotter paperThis is an excerpt from Dr. Albert Hofmann's journal when he his first experimented with LSD several years after discovering it in 1938. During this experiment, he ingested 250 µg of the substance (a single hit today is about 25 µg) and proceeded to have the grandfather of all bad trips.

You can read at the beginning of his journal entry, he was so tweaked, he couldn't finish writing until he came down.

After spending several hours terrified that his body had been possessed by a demon, that his next door neighbor was a witch, and that his furniture was threatening him, Dr. Hofmann feared he had become completely insane. Stop looking at me, chair!
